WHAT TO EXPECT

Sunday gatherings are the heart of church life in Blackrock. This is where the whole church sits together under God’s proclaimed Word. We pray together. We share time and conversation. We learn together. Our aim is to make the most of Sundays. Before, during and after the services.

Beyond this, we want to encourage everyone who is committed to Blackrock to take weekly opportunities to grow together.

We’d love to see you Sundays in person or online. You can also join midweek classes or groups. If you’re already a regular, there are many ways you can serve!

Where

We use the superb facilities at St Andrew’s College (Booterstown Avenue) on Sunday mornings, providing us with parking, reception areas and two spacious auditoriums. There are both indoor and outdoor areas for the children, too. The building is easily accessible from the N11 and University College Dublin (UCD). We are just minutes on foot from Booterstown Dart station. Why don’t you take a moment to get in touch with us – we’d love to hear from you. Or see you on Sunday at 11:00am.

Follow the signs to parking and entrance.

We’re just a short walk away from UCD. View in Google Maps

Kids at Blackrock

Kids Club

This is a fun, Bible-centred time of teaching for the children. All our volunteer leaders are vetted and trained to provide excellent age-appropriate lessons for ages 4 to 11. Bring your children to the service first. After some singing and the Children’s story, they will leave as a group prior to the message. The Kids Club runs slightly longer…

Watch this short video to learn more about what to expect for kids at Blackrock Community Church.

Playroom

This is a fully-supervised creche run by national-vetted volunteers, most of whom are parents themselves. You can drop-off your children prior to the service.

Growthgroups

Growthgroups are Bible study groups led by one of our Office Bearers/Staff and will take place twice per month (Spring and Autumn). These will give us the opportunity to study the Bible and to pray and care for one another.

Young Adults - James Kelly - Blackrock Village - Wednesdays at 7:30-9pm

Graham and Sylvia Fry - Killiney - Wednesdays at 7:30-9pm

Richard and Mandy McConnell - Rathfarnham - Wednesdays at 7:30-9pm

Alan and Amanda Finnegan - Stepaside - Wednesdays at 7:30-9pm

Daniel and Nicoleta Buliga - Dublin West- Wednesdays at 7:30-9pm

Church Ministries

Elevate is the youth ministry of Blackrock Community Church. We aim to equip those in 6th Class (aged 11) to 6th Year (aged 18) with a robust and personal understanding of the gospel – and to have some fun as we go. Elevate meets in various locations (including on the Astro at St Andrew’s College) on Friday evenings during the school term at 7:30-9pm.

Youth

The Students group meet regularly on Sunday evenings for dinner, socials, talks and Bible studies. It is a great way to get to know us beyond Sunday mornings.

Student - Sunday Night Take-aways

Flourish is our ministry for women, designed to help you grow in your relationship with God and with one another. Through events like brunches, evening gatherings, and Bible studies, we create space for women to connect, share, and flourish in every season of life.

Women - Flourish

Curry Nights are a relaxed and welcoming space for men of all ages to connect over great food and real conversation. These evenings happen periodically throughout the year and provide a chance to build friendships, hear stories of faith, and encourage one another in life and discipleship.

Men - Curry Nights

Central Prayer is a time when we come together as a whole community to seek God, pray for our city, our church, and one another. These gatherings also happen periodically and are open to everyone, whether you’re comfortable praying aloud or simply want to be present.
